Manukau Concert Band.
The Manukau Concert Band is a community band with a membership of 40 to 45 musicians who come from all over Auckland. They are very involved in the Manukau community, performing regular formal concerts throughout the year. Their music director is Alex Eichelbaum and assistant director is Tavite Taonga
The band’s repertoire ranges from popular marches and movie themes to light classical pieces and music composed for concert bands, both traditional and contemporary. They regularly present New Zealand premieres of exciting and challenging new compositions for wind band. The band has just had great success winning their grade in the Australian National Championships in Melbourne.
