Ensemble East have performed for us so frequently they seem like old friends to the series. Their musicianship and ability to present fascinatingly varied and interesting programmes never ceases to amaze us. This time they present Dvorak’s Terzetto for the unusual combination of two violins and viola along with Mozart Quartet K465, nicknamed “Dissonance” on account of an unusual harmonic progression in the opening bars. Mozart called this quartet one of his “children” that he is “sending out into the world”.
